TMA Launches Streamlined Path to Certification

CHICAGO – The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is proud to announce the newly streamlined Path to Certification is officially available. In a highly scrutinized profession, the Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and Certified Turnaround Analyst (CTA) designations are the only true way to communicate to potential clients that holders have the experience, knowledge, and integrity necessary to conduct corporate renewal work.

The Path to Certification focuses on three pillars of competency: Legal Principles, Accounting and Finance, and Management. For the relaunch, the course preparation materials and exams were fine-tuned, and in some cases written from scratch. Materials include:

  • Body of Knowledge books on all three topics in both print and electronic format
  • Online preparatory courses on all three topics (coming in Q1 of 2017)
  • Online examinations offered at the test-takers convenience on all three topics

More information can be found at turnaround.org/certification.

The key players in the revamping of the program were honored with the TMA Chairman’s Award at The 2016 TMA Annual at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Recipients include:

  • Bernadette Barron, CTP
  • Jac Belet, III, CTP
  • D’Andre Davis, CTP
  • Hon. Catherine Furay
  • Margaret Good, CTP
  • John Palmer, CTP
  • Arthur Perkins Jr., CTP
  • and the late Peter Tourtellot, CTP

“The amount of work that these TMA members have put into this project is herculean,” said J. Scott Victor, TMA Chairman, managing director, SSG Capital Advisors LLC. “This group will be credited with reinvigorating the TMA Certification Program and further solidifying the claim that having your CTP and CTA is essential to a practitioner’s professional development.”
